Realme is all set to launch its next big smartphone in the country, the Realme 2 Pro on September 27. After a series of rumors and leaks, the company CEO Madhav Seth has confirmed that the device is coming with the Snapdragon 660 chipset.

It’s the third Realme smartphone, and the key features including price are already out.

Realme 2 Pro is going to be a more powerful version of the latest Realme 2 and an upgrade over the existing Realme 1 smartphone. The Realme 2 Pro is going to be the actual successor to Realme 1.

Snapdragon 660 Chipset On Realme 2 Pro

On an interview in a YouTube video, Realme CEO Madhav Seth confirmed that Realme 2 Pro will come with the latest Snapdragon 660 chipset. The third Realme smartphone will see some phenomenal upgrades in terms of hardware.

The Pro model will come with a water-drop notch, we have previously seen on Oppo branded devices like Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro.

The major upgrade on Realme 2 Pro is going to be its Snapdragon 660 chipset. An upgrade over the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset used on Realme 1. The Realme 2 Pro is getting probably the best mid-range chipset under Rs 20,000.

In India, currently, there are three smartphones running Snapdragon 660: Xiaomi Mi A2, Vivo V11 Pro and Nokia 7 Plus.

Realme 2 Pro: Dual Camera Setup, Water-Drop Notch & More!

As leaked in the latest Realme ad, the Realme 2 Pro will come with a water-drop notch at the top of the display like Oppo F9 Pro. This means thinner bezels and more screen space with a little chin down under.

Realme 2 Pro is expected to come with a 6.3 inch elongated notched Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels in an 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The Realme CEO also confirmed that the smartphone will come with a dual rear camera setup, the one we saw on the Realme ad. The specs are not out yet, but it might be a 16 megapixel + 5-megapixel combo.

Realme 2 Pro will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor doubled with its face unlock system. There has been no word on the battery capacity or the storage options, but we expect to see similar battery capacity and variants as the existing Realme 2.

Realme 2 Pro Android P Update

The company CEO in the video said that the Realme 2 Pro will run the same custom version of Android 8.1 Oreo with Color OS like its existing Realme smartphones. But he added that Realme 2 Pro will be updated to the latest Android 9 Pie. You may see Android 9 Pie on Realme 2 Pro by the end of 2018, or early 2019.

According to CEO Madhav Seth, the upcoming Realme 2 Pro is going to be priced somewhere between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000.

Currently the Realme 2 starts at a price of Rs 8,990, so Realme 2 Pro in India is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 15,000. It will launch in similar storage configurations as Realme 2.

As the company mentions announcing a winner before December 17, it looks like the most probable launch date of the first OnePlus smart TV.
