So the much-anticipated Apple event is over, and the Cupertino-based tech giant has a few new things in the box. Apple has been trying to shift it’s business model for years, and this event marks the start.

The company has announced a few major utilities, all service based.

Apple has announced services across news, television, payments and video games and more. The new business ventures suggest a different revenue stream for Apple.

Apple News Plus, $9.99 A Month

Apple announced a news based magazine subscription service called Apple News Plus at $9.99 monthly. You can also a family sharing option at the same price with the first month free. The News Plus service will come with all the major magazines with “Live Cover” presentation for an interactive appearance.

300 Magazines Now, More In Future

Currently, users can access up to 300 magazines on the Apple News Plus. You can also get access to the digital form of traditional news producers like The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. The new issues of your subscribed magazines will be automatically downloaded offline when released.

Apple News Service: Privacy First Issue

The company has claimed that privacy matters to them the most. The Apple News Plus app will not track any user activity. So, Apple won’t keep anything that you read, advertisers can’t track what you’re reading, so no targeted ads. The company will offer customized stories based on what you click on, which will be accessed by computer algorithms without any human intervention.

Apple Credit Card Service

Backed by Goldman Sachs and MasterCard, Apple has a new credit card service available called Apple Card. Unlike other credit services, you can apply for an Apple Card directly from your iPhone. The Apple card is stored digitally on the Wallet app. Apple will also be tagging locations and retailers of all the transactions you made.

Top Security Features & No Late Fee

The Apple card will be generating new security codes every time you make a  new purchase. The card won’t have a credit card number or CVV or even any expiry date. Again, your purchase data will be secured against ad targeting. Being a MasterCard, you can use your Apple Card almost anywhere in the world. The Apple Card comes with no late fees or extra interest for late payments.

2 Percent Cashback On Every Apple Card Purchase

Apple is also offering a 2 percent cash back on every Apple card purchase. Known as Daily Cash, you can use it to pay for your next purchase. The Daily Cash will be credited to your Apple Pay account which you can also use to pay your credit card balance, in-app purchases or to pay friends.

Apple Gaming Service: Apple Arcade

The company also announced a new game subscription service called Apple Arcade. Some may compare it with Google’s Stadia, but the Apple version is only applicable for iOS devices. Also, you don’t need any special platform to play these games. Just an Apple device is enough, be it an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or a Mac computer.

More Than 100 Games Available At Launch & Offline Availability

The service will be available through App Store with access to more than 100 games, again only exclusive to iOS users. You can play across all Apple devices with offline play availability. Unlike Google Stadia, the Apple Arcade can both be downloaded and played live via direct streaming.

New Addition: Apple TV Channels

The company’s TV service now directly includes new channels like HBO, PBS, CBS, Acorn TV and Tastemade. So you won’t have to use any third-party app anymore. These are Apple TV Channels, subscribers can directly pick. You can subscribe and pay for what you want to watch without any large package available with traditional cable.

Finally: Apple TV Plus

Apple wrapped up the event with the biggest announcement it’s a new service called Apple TV Plus. It’s a streaming service with options to watch content both online and offline viewing. The Apple TV Plus will have original shows from popular artists like Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Steven Spielberg and more. The details are not out yet and the service is expected to go live in May.
