Vivo Apex 2020 was scheduled to be unveiled at MWC 2020, but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Starting with the primary USP, Vivo Apex 2020 will come with a 48MP “gimbal” camera. Gimbals can offer some top notch stabilisation on a normal smartphone camera. The device will offer a setting like gimbal to stabilize the camera.
We are yet to know whether it’s some upgraded form of optical image stabilization (OIS) or the device will come with some version of a gimbal. Vivo Apex 2020 aims to offer some superior stabilization for professional video recording on a smartphone.
While smartphone cameras have improved dramatically in the last few years offering top-notch video performance, stabilisation has been an issue.
Vivo Apex 2020 will also come with 5 to 7.5x optical zoom capabilities inside a rectangular camera module, expected to have a periscope camera. It will be a 5G phone, so the device is expected to be powered by the top Qualcomm flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865.
