Tata Sky Introduces Regional Packs At Rs 49; Airtel Digital TV Brings Horror Content At Rs 45
The focus of major DTH and OTT players in India is now regional content and targeting audience of niche, specific programming content.

Tata Sky Introduces Rs 49 Regional Packs
Tata Sky has introduced a new regional pack for Bengali speakers, called Star Bengali Value A. This will be available in SD form, and will cost Rs 49 plus tax.
After taxes, this pack will cost Rs 57.8.
Total of 14 channels would be accessed by the user after choosing this pack, and this include: National Geographic, Star Gold, Jalsha Movies, Star Sports 2 and 3 and more, all customized in Bengali language.
The other pack introduced is Star Bengali Value B, which has the same features and cost, but the only major difference is that Star Sports 1 Hindi would be provided, increased of Star Sports 1 Bengali.
Pack B would be suitable for those Bengali users, who wish to access Star Sports in Hindi.
Besides the basic pack, Tata Sky has also introduced Star Bengali Premium A plan, which costs Rs 79, and after taxes, it will be Rs 93.2.
This pack has 17 channels, which include: Fox Life, Nat Geo Wild, National Geographic, Star Gold Select, Star Sports 1, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 3.
A separate Star Bengali Premium B pack exists, which has Star Sports 1 Hindi, instead of Star Sports 1 Bengali.
Earlier, Tata Sky had offered regional packs at Rs 7, which provided some basic channels in regional languages.
Access Horror Content At Rs 45 With Airtel Digital TV
Meanwhile in a unique initiative, Airtel Digital TV, has now decided to launch a horror specific pack.
Especially targeted for horror-content lovers, this pack is called ‘The Horror TV – Ab Lagega Darr’.
Airtel Digital TV has partnered with Shemaroo Entertainment for streaming some cult horror shows and thrillers such as The Zee Horror Show, Aahat, Fear Files, Gehraiyaan, Agent Raghav, Hoshiyar, Adrishya and Gangster.
There will be a free trial of 10 days for this pack, after which Rs 45 will be charged for the horror content.
