New Redmi X Design Leaked In Video: Shows Sideways Selfie Popup Camera, Triple Cameras & More!

The row over the naming of Redmi X continues, and new leaks suggest it to be Redmi K20 Pro. While nothing officially has been confirmed as of now, let’s call it by its codename only, Redmi X. Now, a new video is out, and it reveals the whole design technology used for the device.

Redmi X goes official on the same day as OnePlus 7 series, May 14.

The subtle hint by Xiaomi of launching the smartphone on the same day as OnePlus 7 series hits the bull’s-eye. The company has been trying to take up a share in the entry-premium segment for long, and Redmi X seems to be the key this time.

Not only Redmi, its biggest rival Realme is also planning a similar entry-premium flagship, set to launch just a day later.

Redmi X Design Technology Leaked: What’s New?

The latest video leak suggests that the upcoming Redmi flagship will come with sideways pop-up selfie camera. While the first video already confirmed the presence of a pop-up selfie camera mechanism and a notch-less display, this video also shows a similar display and design methodology.

The upcoming Redmi flagship device is going to use a pop-up sensor to achieve the highest possible screen to body ratio.

The Redmi X smartphone is going to be first device from the Xiaomi lineup to use the pop-up selfie sensor mechanism. The company has previously experimented with slider body mechanics on Mi MIX 3, but pop-up body parts are making a debut with Redmi X.

The video shows a notch-less display on top with very thin bezels and a little chin down under. The display is similar to what OnePlus 7 Pro may look like except for the curved sides.

Sideways Pop-Up Selfie Camera Mechanism On Redmi X

Redmi X is shown in the video with a sideways pop-up mechanism. So the device would be using the technology for selfies and video calls with the pop-up sideways camera. The pop-up camera on Redmi X resides on the left side featuring protruding module.

The leaked video shows the pop-up sensor coming out and retracting from the left side of the device.

While the camera details on the front are not out yet. The leaks suggest that the device will come with a 32-megapixel front camera sensor inside the module.

With the pop-up selfie module on top, the smartphone will ditching the notch and will be able to offer a higher screen-to-body ratio without any additional aberration on the screen.

Redmi X Specs & Features: What’s Inside?

Redmi X will come with a 6.3-inch display offering a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Redmi X will run on the latest and fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip with with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

At the back, the smartphone will come with a three camera setup.

The triple rear camera set up will include the 48MP Sony IMX 586 as it’s primary sensor, a ultrawide sensor as confirmed in the recent leak and an additional depth sensor.

The company GM Weibing recently also posted a few samples showing off the ultrawide lens from the upcoming Redmi flagship device.

Recently, the company also confirmed the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack in the device with NFC support.

The Redmi flagship device will launch on May 14 in China, with an expected India launch a month later, either as Poco F2 or with the same name.
