Xiaomi is working on a new affordable gaming phone called Xiaomi Play to take on Honor Play in the mid-range gaming section. The smartphone is expected to launch on December 24. Xiaomi already has a dedicated Black Shark Helo gaming phone in the mid-premium category.

The upcoming Xiaomi Play phone will fall in the mid-range price category, and it’s going to be an affordable gaming phone.

As per the rumors, the company is planning to launch a new youth-focused gaming smartphone this Christmas Eve. No other information is out yet, but on Weibo, a teaser of the smartphone was out confirming the name, Xiaomi Play.

Some of the rumors suggest Xiaomi Play could be a rebranded Poco F1 with better specs at a budget pricing.

Xiaomi is lined up for the next couple of months. The company will also launch a new phone in early January with a 48MP camera.

President Bin earlier confirmed a 48MP Xiaomi phone launch in January 2019. The 48MP Xiaomi phone could actually be the Mi 9, but the new reports hint at an all new phone. The smartphone is expected to be priced around CNY 2,000 (around INR 20,500).
