The upcoming Xiaomi OS will again work on the next two Android versions, the Pie and to-be-announced Q.

New System Icons

The upcoming MIUI 11 will have new system icons. The company is said to be working on new and upgraded system icons from scratch. So, the next Xiaomi OS will have better-looking icons, expected to sport a more minimal look.

The current app icons on the OS were introduced back with MIUI 8.

New Unified Design

The new MIUI 11 will have a brand new upgraded design. The UI is expected to run on a unified design compared to the current MIUI 10. So, the overall design will see a flat change supported by AI powered features.

Ultimate Power Saving Mode

MIUI will also come in with an ultimate power saving mode. This ultimate power saving mode feature will disable all the system functions except for calls and messages.

Itwill also turn off all the colors on the user interface by switching to a monochrome mode to save battery.

You can also choose to customize the ultimate power save mode so that you can choose an app for the mode on your own.

Dark Mode

The upcoming MIUI 11 will support a system-wide dark mode. Google will also be launching its next Android with system-wide dark mode support. Already you can have a system-wide dark mode on the current MIUI with a dark based theme.

But the next MIUI will let you use a dark mode directly from the system settings.

Android Q Support

While the first iteration of the next MIUI may run on Android Pie, the Android Q is also expected on the future versions of MIUI 11. Google has already announced the Android Q beta program, so the rollout may happen soon.

Xiaomi may announce Android Q based MIUI 11 by the end of the year.

App Drawer

Well, it’s still a rumored feature, but the upcoming MIUI 11 may come with an App Drawer like the Poco F1. The Poco launcher works on MIUI supported devices, and it also recently has received the Dark mode feature.

So both an app drawer and dark mode is expected to arrive with MIUI 11.

New AI Features

The MIUI 11 will have a number of AI features. The system will automatically adjust itself with your behavior. Like the MIUI 11 will automatically be deleting the screenshots after they have been shared.

The system will also restrict the use of such apps which are never used.

Xiaomi is also working on to optimize the status bar. The upcoming MIUI 11 will see a few new changes in the status bar to make it more interactive. The status bar will also support the dark mode and options to customize.

These are some of the confirmed key features of the upcoming MIUI 11.

The stable version of the MIUI 11 is expected to happen in mid Q3 or by the end of the fourth quarter of the year.
