RCom to Offer 10GB 4G Mobile Data For Rs 93 Using Jio’s Network
Last year, when Anil Ambani owned Reliance Communication and Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio announced 4G spectrum sharing deal, then speculations were rife about a possible partnership in future, related with 4G offerings.
This has now been confirmed as the two Ambani brothers have united, and the catalyst is 4G services. In a letter written by RCom to DoT, it was revealed that using Jio’s network, they will now offer 4G data packs to their CDMA customers who have upgraded to 4G technology.
And the best part is that, this collaboration has enabled dirt cheap tariffs, which will surely lift the spirits of RCom customers who faced quite a few issues while upgrading to 4G network.
An official source from RCom said, “RCom has written to the Department of Telecom, informing (the department) that it will be using Reliance Jio Infocomm 4G network to provide 4G data service to its CDMA customers from next week. Only those CDMA customers who opted for the upgrade will get the service”
4G data packs offered by RCom using Jio’s network would start from Rs 93 for 10 GB pack. In most of the circles where RCom is offering 4G services, the tariff will vary between Rs 93 to Rs 97 per 10 GB, which is almost 94% less than their competitors (in some cases, even lesser than Jio’s expected pricing!)
Note here, that RCom has paid Rs 6500 cr+ to use 850MHz band spectrum across 20 circles, as per the spectrum sharing agreements with Jio.
As per the letter to DoT, RCom will start 4G services in these 12 circles: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, UP East and West, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Depending on the permission from DoT, 4G services is expected to start in 6 more circles: Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Rajasthan.
The new tariff rates from RCom will actually beat Telenor’s offer of 100 MB for Rs 11 in some circles.
RCom has around 8 million customers, out of which 90% have opted for 4G upgrade; and this special offer would be available only for those customers who have upgraded.
In terms of speed, RCom customers can be assured of getting only the best from Jio network. Last year during India-SA cricket match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Jio set a record for fastest speed as 14,500 spectators enjoyed 13.55 Mbps speed during the match, which was never achieved anywhere in the world.
Here is an overview of Jio’s 4G speed, as per 3rd party tests.
Even before a public launch, Reliance Jio has become 6th largest telecom operator in terms of data usage.
Will Jio’s network propel Reliance Communication to expand further? Or we may see a possible merger of these two telecom behemoths in future? Do share your comments right here!

False news, just like earlier bsnl cheap data news.
Why is are these medias hell bound on giving free pubilcity for Jio /Rcom?
No evidence to support the claim…it’s probably one time offer for migration.
