[Exclusive] HCL Acknowledges Labour Ministry Notice Over Bonus Recovery; Assigns Lawyer For The Case

As per updated information received, HCL has acknowledged the notice sent by the Labour Ministry over their bonus recovery process, and has assigned a lawyer to fight this case.

HCL Acknowledges Labour Ministry Notice

We have received information from Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate NITES, about the on-going case regarding HCL recovering bonus from the resigned employees.

NITES informed us that HCL has acknowledged the notice from the Labour Ministry, and they have responded to it. It seems that HCL hadn’t received the exact details of the complaints, and have asked for them for further action.

Next date of the hearing is March 17th, 2022.

Harpreet Saluja, President, Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate NITES said, “Today was the hearing date of our case against HCL Technologies at Labour Commissioner office Pune. The company’s lawyer submitted authorisation letter of representation and have sought time to submit the reply on our complaint. Next date is 17th March 2022. I have shared details of our complaint and unethical practice of the company.”

HCL will now study the complaints, and accordingly, make their case.

Labour Ministry’s Notice To HCL

As we reported earlier, Labour Ministry had issued a notice to HCL, over their practice of recovering bonus from the resigned employees.

Although HCL has now stopped this practice, but there are approximately 20,000-30,000 employees, who have already paid back the bonus to HCL.

Earlier, HCL had stopped issuing experience certificates to the resigned employees, unless they paid back the bonus. This arm-twisting strategy was condemned, and after a lot of protests by NITEs and the impacted employees, HCL had to stop the recovery process.
