Indian Railways Cancel These 40 Trains Indefinitely Due To Corona Virus: Check Full List Of Trains Cancelled
The second wave of deadly coronavirus disease in India has added 3,23,144 fresh cases of infection on Tuesday, taking India’s total tally of Covid-19 cases to 1,76,36,307.
The exponentially increasing caseload in the country has led the Centre and state governments to institute night curfews and lockdown.
Given the current situation in the country, along with poor passenger occupancy, the Indian Railways has notified cancelling 40 trains for a temporary period, until further orders.
NWR Cancels 40 Trains, While SCR 10
The deputy general manager of the North Western Railway (NWR) region, Lt. Shashi Kiran informed that the reason behind cancellation of the 40 trains is increasing cases due to Covid-19 and low passenger count.
The services of these trains will remain suspended until further notice.
Similarly, the South Central Railway (SCR) too, has cancelled 10 trains, which were scheduled to conduct journeys between April 28 and June 1.
It informed that the suspension of these trains would be temporary in nature.
