48% Professionals Report Decrease In Productivity Due To Work From Home Model

A report by Teamblind concludes a survey stating that 48% of survey respondents report their productivity decreasing. The survey analyses 2016 responses between the time period of 22 December 2020 to 4 January 2021.

Prior to the COVID-19 disease, only 5% of Americans worked from home. By May 2020, the figure had gone up to 62%.

Teamblind is a company that designs and develops blind, an application that provides anonymous social networking services. Blind is reportedly one of the largest online professional networks.

On being asked, “How did WFH affect your productivity at work?” square professionals stated the highest level of decreased productivity, at 73%. Whereas, Adobe comes in close, with reduced productivity at 67%.

Bloomberg, Twitter Professionals State Improvement in Productivity Due To WFH

On the other hand, Bloomberg professionals have said that the work from home policy has boosted their productivity. Twitter employees have seconded this; about 70% of Twitter professionals have said that work from home has increased their productivity.

A professional working with Amazon has responded to the survey, “My productivity went down but not only from WFH. The social aspect of work took a big nose dive which makes it less engaging and less energetic. But that doesn’t need work from the office, regular in person get togethers would fix that.”

He went on to say that he could imagine every sprint where everyone would gather for social events or workshop meetings and all the actual work would be done from home.

There have been reports about leading IT services providers, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, announcing that their employees will continue working from home. The working from home model will be extended until March 2021.
