New Airport Train Fares From Rs 10-15
It is a long ride from Bengaluru city to the Kempegowda International Airport, located in the outskirts of the city.
Commuters travelling to and from the two locations have to make use of expensive bus and cab rides, with bus tickets starting from Rs 250.
This is why, the introduction of train services by the Indian Railways, with the South Western Railway zone and the Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) setting up a railway halt station near Kempegowda International Airport, Devanahalli station, comes with the most welcoming stance by the travellers.
This will provide lakhs of commuters with an inexpensive, hassle-free, eco-friendly and faster alternative connectivity between the airport and the city, which will drastically reduce traffic and road congestion in the city too.
Commuters can board the city and reach the Devanahalli station, located at the edge of the airport boundary, for fares between Rs 10-15. A shuttle service will be provided between the station and the airport at fares as low as Rs 10.
Ticket fare from Bangalore station is Rs 10. If it goes via Cantonment Station it is Rs 15.
“There are thousands of workers in Bangalore airport. The devices will be highly beneficial to them as well. We have discussed with airport authorities and designed the train timings in such a way to attend to the peak timing in the airport which is early in the morning and again late in the evening. We hope the services will be well patronised.”, says Vijaya, Deputy General Manager and Chief Public Relations Officer of South Western Railways.
