One good thing that came out during the challenging times of lockdown and pandemic is work from home, the new normal.

Initially it was not considered a practical solution but now it has emerged as the economic and safe way of working with other added advantages.

Reportedly, the technology professionals in India are getting more job offers for remote work from global employers now.

Increase In Demand

Many companies, which help hire high-profile tech talent, have mentioned about the two-three times increasing demands from pre-pandemic levels, according to the Economic Times.

Since, companies are convinced now that work-from-home works indeed.

Who Is Hiring?

Mostly the companies such as Instahyre, Interviewbit, Rocket, Techfynder, CIEL HR Services and Pesto Tech said firms from the US, Europe, Australia and the Middle East are especially hiring for contract roles.

Earlier during March, April and even May, the hiring sentiment was dull due to lockdowns in place globally, but now it is again regaining the momentum.

The number of applications and people hired have tripled during  July-September as compared to the previous quarter, according to Sarbojit Mallick, the cofounder of Instahyre.

Currently, Instahyre works for 8,700 companies growing from 5,300 last year along with the two to three fold rise in revenue.

Mostly, the addition of clients is from the US and other international markets.

Now they need not to wait for long for an H-1B visa.

What Is Driving The Demand?

On top of that, a great desire to work remote and easier access to international talent are giving a fillip to this trend, according to Abhinav Agrawal, a cofounder of US-based tech and finance hiring firm Rocket.

The demand had gone up by at least 20% since February said Praveen Madire, CEO of Dublin-based Techfynder.

Basically Techfynder firm helps hire tech talent on short term contracts mostly in Ireland and the UK.

So far, they have placed more than hundred Indians in the last five to six months.

Another firm Pesto Tech cofounder, Ayush JJaiswal mentioned that they have hired multiple developers.

Pesto Tech is an edtech startup offering remote work opportunities for Indian engineers, US-based startups including Highlighter, Clipboard Health, Pulley and Snorkel.
