Realme and OnePlus working on a Smartwatch? Xiaomi to bring Mi Watch to India? Smartphone companies are lining up to join the Smartwatch bandwagon, a growing billion-dollar industry.

There are a handful of quality smartwatches available in India, with multiple companies set to enter the domain.

Smartwatches are the next big thing happening in the consumer tech industry, and India will soon see a plethora of budget smartwatches. Xiaomi already sells with sub-brand Amazfit, and now Realme is expected to enter as well.

Here are some of the expected upcoming smartwatches in India.

Redmi Smartwatch

Redmi has confirmed that they are making a smartwatch under the Redmi brand. Xiaomi already unveiled a Mi Watch, and it’s going to be loaded with similar features at a more affordable price tag. Redmi has officially announced that they are working on a smartwatch.

The Redmi smartwatch will run on MIUI in its home market. In India, Redmi smartwatch will come with Google WearOS and added MIUI features.

OnePlus Watch

OnePlus watch is in the making. After wireless buds and TVs, the much sought-after innovative brand is set to bring its first Smartwatch. OnePlus has already tried it’s hand in making a watch back in 2016. The OnePlus smartwatch is expected to be in line with some of the best in the market.

OnePlus has already hinted a few times of its watch being in the making phase, and it will be in line with some of the top premium smartwatches in the market.

Mi Watch

Already unveiled in China, the Mi Watch is expected to launch in India in 2020. The Mi Watch by Xiaomi highly resembles the Apple Watch and packs in an 1.78-inch AMOLED display with 326 PPI, backed by a 570mAh battery. It has GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC and supports eSIM. Similar features are expected on Redmi Watch.

Xiaomi is the number one wearable brand in the country, and hence Mi Watch is expected to come to India, either it may launch separately or under the Redmi brand.

Realme Smart Watch

There have been multiple leaks regarding the Realme Smartwatch. It’s said to be in the making phase and is now confirmed. The company will launch a fitness band this month in India, and is expected to follow up with a Smartwatch soon. The Realme Smartwatch is said to have received BIS Certification, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

The Realme Smartwatch will target the sub-10,000 market primarily with top-end features and functions.

Oppo Smartwatch

Company VP shared on Weibo it’s first Smartwatch, and the image has a striking resemblance to Apple Watch. With multiple clones available, the Apple Watch has been a standard design for most premium watch manufacturers. Oppo smartwatch has been teased by Shen, and it will come with a similar design as Apple Watch.

Not only Oppo Smartwatch, the Apple Watch design has inspired multiple smartwatches in the market including the Mi Watch and Xiaomi-backed Amazfit GTS.

Mi Watch Color

The new Mi Watch Color has been launched in China, and is expected in India in 2020. Unlike Mi Watch, the Mi Watch Color comes  with a circular dial and different sets of colourful straps. While Xiaomi is yet to announce the price for the Mi Watch Color, apart from design, the features will remain standard on both the Mi Watches.

The Mi Watch Color comes with a host of colour straps, and the circular dial are the distinguishing features on the Color version of Mi Watch.

Asus VivoWatch 2

Asus first unveiled the original VivoWatch in 2015 and later revived it in 2018. The company will continue to sell its VivoWatch series, and a successor is expected to be unveiled in 2020. The Asus VivoWatch 2 may launch in the middle of 2020 running on Android with all the latest features.

The Asus Smartwatch will have the ECG and PPG sensors alongside real-time heart rate sensor, pulse oxygen levels, autonomic nerve activity, stress levels and blood pressure.
