EY Will Hire 14,000 Employees In India For Global Delivery Service; Deloitte Will Hire 40,000

Ernst & Young or EY is on a hiring spree in India.

Ever since EY shifted their focus from audit and accounting to consulting services, they have been ramping up recruitment, and this year, they have some major plans for India.

EY Will Hire 14,000 In India

For their GDS or Global Delivery Service, EY is all set to hire 14,000 employees.

EY has 8 such global delivery centres across India, and 27,000 employees are already part of this team.

As per Srinivasa Rao, global vice-chair at EY GDS, these new hiring will be done to fulfill their digital transformation drive, and to provide skill-based teams for their clients from all over the world.

Which Skills Are In Demand?

Data Analytics, and Machine Learning are the top priority for EY this fiscal year, as they are hunting for the best talent in this regard.

Cyber Security and automation are other niches, which will have intense hiring. Machine learning, AI, robotics related skills are also in demand.

Rao said, “We are reaching for higher value talent. The areas we’re looking at are advanced analytics, cybersecurity, automation and machine learning, and (we are) continuing attention around artificial intelligence.” 

The hired personals will be deployed across consulting, advisory, client technology and innovation related tasks.

Other Consulting Companies Are Hiring Too

Not only EY, but other Consulting majors such as KPMG and Deloitte are also in a hiring spree.

Deloitte has announced that they will recruit 40,000 employees from India, whereas KPMG will recruit 8000 to 9000 employees.

Besides Consulting firms, who empower their clients with the skills related with technology, IT firms too are hiring on full spree this year.

In fact, major IT firms have already hired 85,000 employees, thereby breaking their own 6-year old record. Around 2.5 lakh jobs are left unclaimed, as there are no skilled personals to fill the gap.

The big IT firms such as TCS, Wipro, HCL and others have announced their plans to hire 78,000 more employees this fiscal, which is another major recruitment record.
