A tech company, which caters to the education line, by providing a platform where students and teachers can interact with each other and share resources, has been declared as the fastest-growing company in New Zealand, ranked at the top-most spot on the 2021 Deloitte Fast 50 index.

The Auckland-based tech company Kami, launched in 2013 has grown by a record 1,177% in revenues since 2018, states the Deloitte report. On been declared as the fastest-growing company in New Zealand, Kami has rewarded each of its employees with a bonus of 10,000 NZD, amounting to $7,000.

Kami Grows Widely Over the Past Year

The tech company provides an interactive platform between teachers and students, a business which has skyrocketed to touch peaks in the Covid-19 era, not just in New Zealand but globally.

“Our team had been working incredibly long hours, made a lot of sacrifices over the last 18 months, supporting teachers and students globally. We wanted a way to say thank you and recognise what they have achieved,” stated Kami co-founder Hengjie Wang to a New Zealand-based news media website.

The company surprised its employees with the bonus news over a Zoom call. The company now caters to over 180 countries, and has a wide user base of over 30 million teachers and students.

Over 12,000 K–12 schools use the platform in the United States, stated the company. Besides, the company offered its platform, intact of features for free of cost to all the teachers around the world.

 Doing so reduced the sales figures rapidly but the company has managed to surge the sales figure in recent times.

“Fast forward 18 months, with that sort of massive shift in education, we saw maybe about five years’ worth of growth in the market in one year,” added Wang.
