7 Features Of Huawei Mate 30 Leaked: Is This The Ultimate iPhone 11 Alternative?

After iPhones, it’s now time for Pixel and Mate series. Huawei has already been in the news for the longest possible period for reasons they won’t favour, and they want to fix the reputation with Mate 30 series, the most-anticipated flagships by Huawei.

For the last few years the Huawei flagships have done reasonably well in multiple foreign markets.

It plans to continue to do so with the next Mate flagships, the third generation Mate 30 smartphones. Interestingly the company hasn’t dropped the notch for a pop-up sensor or a hole in the display as its counterparts, but it will continue with a more enhanced and slimmer notch with Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.

Here’s some interesting things you need to know about the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 smartphones.

Two Cameras Inside The Notch: Dual Selfie Cameras!

The upcoming Mate 30 smartphones are supposedly rumoured to be packing in more than a single front facing shooter. The leaked pictures show a wide and thin notch, and it’s bigger than the one on Huawei P30 Pro. The device may come with two cameras inside the notch as the current Pixel smartphones. This will help the face unlocking technology to offer more secure and stable results.

The flagships will also include an in-display fingerprint sensor apart from the face unlocking system.

Waterfall Display: Edge To Edge Curved Display

Mate 30 smartphones will come with a POLED Waterfall FullView display. The Waterfall display on Mate 30 will be curved on the edges which allows the smartphone to offer seamless multimedia experience. The just-launched NEX 3 also offers a similar FullView waterfall display experience with curved edges and zero bezels.

Vivo NEX 3 has achieved a 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. Mate 30 has a notch, but still the display will have close to 95 percent screen.

Mate 30 Pro is rumoured to come with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a short and wide display notch. It will house in the advanced 3D facial recognition technology.

Single Button & Capacitive Keys: In-Display Volume Rocker

The company is working on a seamless design this time to offer a button-less experience. As companies are experimenting with fewer buttons, Huawei is supposed to launch Mate 30 series with single button devices. The leaked pictures show no fingerprint sensor or even volume rockers. There’s a single power button.

So either the company would employ capacitive buttons for other purposes, or just a single power button. As the fingerprint sensor, the volume controls could also be under display.

HiSilicon Kirin 990: World’s First Smartphone

The upcoming Huawei flagship will come with the next-gen 7nm Kirin 990, unveiled at the IFA Berlin. The next generation Kirin 990 will power the future Huawei and Honor flagships, starting with the new Mate 30 series. They will run on Android 9 Pie powered EMUI software systems.

The company has already revealed some key details regarding the chip via a promo video.

Kirin 990 kay support 5G. It’s been produced on a 7nm EUV process for better power efficiency. The previous generation Kirin 980 SoC was world’s first 7nm mobile chipset at IFA 2018.

The new Kirin 990 will provide 20 per cent higher transistor density and better power efficiency. It supports 4K video recording at 60fps with a dedicated dual NPU for advanced AI capabilities

Quad Camera Technology: Four Sensors Inside The Circle

The regular model and the Pro model will sport different camera sensors. Mate 30 Pro will pack in two 40MP sensors on the back housed in a circular shaped four camera module, while the regular model may sport only one. The leaks hint to a 1/1.55″ lens for the main camera and a 1/1.7″ lens for the ultra-wide-angle camera.

The other two sensors will include a 5x periscope-styled sensor and finally a 3D Time-of-Flight sensor.

Mate 30 probably will come with a rear three camera system unlike the quad camera setup on Mate 30 Pro.

55W Wired Charging Technology

The regular Mate 30 and the top-end Mate 30 Pro will have another Lite model. The regular Huawei Mate 30 smartphones will be powered by Kirin 990, and are rumoured to be running on 4,200mAh and 4,500mAh battery units respectively. The new Kirin 990 will add up to overall battery performance and efficiency.

Interestingly, both the Mate 30 smartphones will support 25W fast wireless charging in addition to 55W wired charging out of the box.

There’s A Lite Variant: Huawei Mate 30 Lite Specs

The company has a Lite variant under the flagship series to expand to the affordable lineup. Mate 30 Lite will be very different in terms of design and specs compared to the regular Mate 30 smartphones. The smartphone will not come with a notch. It will feature a punch-hole display featuring the camera cutout on the front, a square camera mobile at the back and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone will be similar to the Honor View20 or Huawei Nova 4, announced early this year. Mate 30 Lite will be powered by entry-level premium Kirin 810 chipset, also based on a 7nm architecture.

Launch: Mate 30 Series India Launch, Mate 30 India Price

There will be four phones in the series: Mate 30 Lite, Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and a special edition Mate 30 Pro Porsche Design. Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will launch commercially on September 18 internationally at Munich Germany. The Mate 30 series India launch may happen sometime later, probably by the end of October.

The company has generally launched all its flagship smartphones in India within a month of global launch, and the same is expected in the case of Mate 30 series.

The Mate 30 series will again be priced very competitively as its predecessors. The regular Huawei Mate 30 India price may be fixed at around Rs 55,000 to Rs 60,000 to take on the regular Galaxy S10 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

The Mate 30 Lite will target the entry-premium flagship segment, expected to be priced around 25,000 rupees to take on OnePlus 7T, Asus 6Z and Redmi K20 Pro. While the top-end Huawei Mate 30 Pro India price will touch Rs 70,000-mark to challenge upcoming Pixel 4 XL, iPhone 11 Pro models and the Galaxy Note 10+.
