Google Pixel 4 Leaked: Punch-Hole Display, Top Specs, Price, Launch & More!

The fourth generation Pixel smartphone has been leaked again, and this time Google is leaving no stone unturned. The company went blatantly wrong last time with the design of Pixel 3 XL, and the sales dropped badly this year.

The company recently was forced to launch a mid-range variant of the smartphone to control the damage.

The fourth generation Pixel 4 has been leaked in an all new design, similar to the current crop of punch-hole display smartphones.

Google will be using a similar technology as Samsung and Huawei to offer a higher screen to body ratio without any notch. The company won’t use a pop-up sensor, and instead will place in the front camera inside the display.

Making It Right This Time: Pixel 4 To Feature Punch-Hole Display

Google went wrong with the display last year, and it affected their sales badly. The company recently reported a big drop in sales, and hence had to bring in a mid-range model to do some damage control. The top-end Pixel 3 XL variant was made fun of, because of the design and oddly-sized notch.

The company later launched toned-down variants, Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL to bring in some more sales.

While they are not keeping any stone unturned this time, and are planning to bring in a flawless design in 2019.

Google is reportedly working on a punch-hole display design to put in their front sensor and offer a higher screen to body ratio. Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will come with punch-hole displays and edge to edge screen panels.

Google Pixel 4 Design: Inspired By Samsung S10 Series?

Samsung was not the first company to bring in a punch-hole display smartphone. It was Huawei who brought in the first commercial smartphone with a punch-hole display, later adapted by Samsung and Nokia.

The design will soon be a part of other smartphones from other manufacturers as well.

Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are already reported to be making their own punch-hole display smartphones.

While Google has always been a late adapter when it comes to design technology, it’s great they have learnt from their mistakes. Their last, the Pixel 3 XL was horrible, not from in, but from the outside. They had to fix it.

According to a latest report by Slash Leaks, the upcoming Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones would come with a similar punch-hole camera design as Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus. The leaked image hints at dual cameras upfront, which again may differ between the Pixel 4 and 4 XL models.

Pixel 4 Series: Specs, Features, Design & More!

Coming to the design, the other features are expected to remain same. The power button, the volume control buttons and the SIM tray would again be in the same spot as the Pixel 3 models. There’s no news about any in-display fingerprint sensor.

So, the fingerprint sensor should remain at the centre of the back diagonally below the camera.

The Pixel 4 smartphones will come with almost-zero bezels and an edge to edge display. Also, the upcoming Pixel devices will come with dual speakers at the front like the recently launched OnePlus 7 Pro.

Google Pixel 4 smartphones will run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with Android Q on top. The new Pixel 4 smartphones may support upto of 6GB RAM with more storage options. Pixel 4 smartphones are also going to be the first Android devices to get the next generation Google Assistant.

The next generation Google Assistant will be able to respond to your queries even when you are offline.

Google Pixel 4 India Price: Launch & Availability

The upcoming Google Pixel 4 smartphones will cost as much the Pixel 3 smartphones in India. The company has always placed their phones against the flagships of Samsung and Apple, and certainly it will again do it. But it has to offer smartphones that can match up to what other flagships offer.

The regular Pixel 4 should cost around Rs 60,000 during launch, while the Pixel 3 XL may cost around Rs 80,000 in India.

Coming to launch, Google will announce the Pixel 4 devices in early October. The smartphones will be readily available in India, and the sale should start by the end of month. The Pixel 4 devices will be available exclusively via Flipkart in the country.
