Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro India Launch On August 20

After unveiling its latest 64MP camera technology, Realme is now all set to launch its first quad camera smartphones in the country. There won’t be any Realme 4 as the parent company believes it to be bad luck, if you remember, there’s even no OnePlus 4.

There will be multiple smartphones under Realme 5 series, and probably the Realme 5 Pro will come with four rear cameras.

The smartphones will launch in India first on August 20 and will be available exclusively via Flipkart. The company recently launched two smartphones in the country, a mid-range flagship: Realme X and another budget flagship, toned-down Realme 3 model: Realme 3i.

Realme 5 Series Launch On August 20: Realme 5 & Realme 5 Pro

The ex-Oppo sub-brand will launch two smartphones under Realme 5 series: Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro. The official teaser is out on Flipkart, though the company is yet to confirm the names. Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will launch on the same day, unlike the previous Realme 2 and Realme 3 series.

The Flipkart teaser confirms Realme 5 series, and the Realme 5 smartphones will come with quad rear camera systems. Both the budget Realme 5 and the midrange Realme 5 Pro are expected to come with four cameras at the back.

Realme 5 series with Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will succeed the currently available Realme 3 series. The first smartphone under Realme 3-series, Realme 3 was unveiled in March followed by Realme 3 Pro in April. Last month, the series saw an extension with another budget device, Realme 3i.

With Realme 5 series, the company will be jumping a huge leap in terms of imaging technology and capabilities. The devices will probably come with new processors, while the pricing is expected to remain largely the same. Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will sell via Flipkart, while the current Realme 3 series will continue to sell alongside.

Not Three, But Four Rear Cameras: Realme 5 Series

Realme has been in business for just over a year, and they have a good line of budget devices. The company upgraded dual cameras with Realme 2 series, and will now upgrade to four cameras with Realme 5 series. Interestingly, they don’t have any smartphone which comes with three cameras or a triple camera system.

They are directly jumping to a quad camera system with Realme 5 series to stay ahead in the curve.

India has only a handful of smartphones which come with more than three cameras. Now with Realme launching quad-camera smartphones in the country, soon this is expected to become a mainstream trend. Even the market leader Xiaomi doesn’t have any smartphone with four rear cameras.

Realme Quad Camera Technology: What’s In The Box?

The Flipkart teaser confirms that the Realme 5 smartphones will come with rear four camera systems. The Realme 5 series devices will have quad camera setups: primary, ultra-wide, super macro, and portraits. We don’t know the camera specs yet, but the company has unveiled the purposes the different sensors will be serving.

According to the company, the upcoming primary image sensors on Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will be able to capture some breathtaking low-light pictures.

The sensors will come with a larger aperture and pixel size, helping the Realme 5 smartphones to offer top-notch imaging technology. The ultra-wide angle lens on Realme 5 series will be able to capture 119-degree field of view and capture 1.5x more area.

Further, there will be a super-macro lens to click some great macro in-sight sbots, while the fourth depth sensor will help to add in accurate sharpness and offer clear portrait shots.
