Weekly Trending Smartphones: Mi 9T, Poco F2, Galaxy M40, Galaxy A80, Moto Z4, Nokia 9, OnePlus 7 Pro

The upcoming Redmi flagships continue to trend in the country. All set to launch in India this month, the naming saga continues as the smartphones are to be called Poco F2 Pro or Redmi K20 Pro. The company also launched the same K20 smartphones under Mi brand in multiple markets as Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro.

It’s been confirmed that Redmi K20 smartphones are the new rebranded Mi 9T devices.

Samsung will also be unveiling two devices this month: Galaxy M40 and Galaxy A80. The Galaxy A80 sports the special pop-up rotating camera technology, a first for the company. On the other hand, Galaxy M40 will target the upper mid-range market in the sub-20,000 segment.

Poco F2 Pro / Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T

Xiaomi is all set to unveil its first flagship series under Redmi in the country this month. The confusion with the same continues whether it will be called Redmi K20 Pro or Poco F2 Pro, the company is said to launch a Poco F2 series consisting of different K20 smartphones. Poco F2 Pro will run on the latest Qualcomm flagship processor Snapdragon 855, three rear cameras, notch-less display, in-display fingerprint sensor and a pop-up selfie camera.

Redmi K20 Pro will also run on the latest Android Q beta version, a huge 4,000mAh battery supporting 27W fast charging and special gaming features to offer the best of smartphone gaming experience.

Nokia 9 PureView

HMD Global will be launching the much-awaited Nokia 9 PureView after a good 4-month long haul in the country this on June 6. The Nokia 9 flagship will come with the special much-hyped ZEISS powered penta rear camera set up. On top, the smartphone comes with a 5.99-inch p-OLED 2K display with HDR10 support. It runs on last year’s Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 845, an in-display fingerprint scanner, rear five camera system, IP67 rating and more.

The Nokia 9 PureView was launched in a single variant with 128GB storage at $699. In India the smartphone is expected at launch at around Rs 45,000, or even low.

Samsung Galaxy A80

Samsung is said to be launching it’s hyped Galaxy A80 smartphone in the country this week. The smartphone was announced in Thailand last month with a special a pop-up rotating camera technology, a first for the company. Samsung will hold special pop-up events across the country at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata on June 8 and June 9. Galaxy A80 features comes with a first-of-its-kind notchless 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display.

Samsung Galaxy A80 is powered by the newly launched Qualcomm 2. Snapdragon 730G chipset clocked at 2GHz, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It’s currently available in a single storage option.

Backed by a 3,700mAh battery, Galaxy A80 supports 25W fast charging running on Android Pie with Samsung’s One UI on top. It has a special pop-up rotatory camera featuring a triple camera setup comprising of a 48MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, a 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a ToF (Time of Flight) camera for depth mapping.

Samsung Galaxy M40

Samsung Galaxy M40 has been trending space since last couple of weeks. It’s all set to launch on June 11 with a punch-hole styled display on top. Most of the specs are out. It will run on an octa-core 11nm Snapdragon 675 chip paired with 6GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie based OneUI OS. The Samsung Galaxy M40 will feature a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging and triple rear cameras including an ultrawide lens and 128GB of internal storage.

It will come a similar body pattern and build as Galaxy M30 with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Samsung Galaxy M40 will be available in three colour options: Blue, Orange and Black at around 20,000 rupees or below.

Moto Z4

Motorola will soon be announcing its fourth generation Z series smartphone, Moto Z4 in the country some time in June. It has already been launched in the US starting at $499.99 (around Rs 34,850). Moto Z4 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chip packed with a 6.4-inch full HD+ LCD display with a water drop notch, dual camera setup at the back including a 48MP camera sensor and a 25MP selfie shooter.

It’s available currently in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage supporting up to 2TB additional storage, backed by a 3,600mAh battery with 15W TurboPower fast charging technology.

Asus Zenfone 6

Asus recently unveiled its much-awaited flagship a few days back at Spain, the sixth generation Zenfone 6. The much-hyped smartphone from Asus has been trending since launch because of its unique features and the flipping 48MP camera. The unique technology has been used to offer a full-screen display in the form of a flippable dual camera module which doubles as a front and rear camera.

Asus Zenfone 6 runs on the latest Snapdragon 855 with almost stock ZenUI 6 based on Android 9 Pie, a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor and a massive 5,000mAh battery. Zenfone 6 will launch in India in a few weeks.

OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus 7 Pro is on sale now, and the smartphone continues to make news. The OnePlus hype doesn’t seem to be come down easily as sales start to grow. OnePlus 7 Pro has been launched in India starting at Rs 48,999. OnePlus 7 Pro has been helmed as one of the best smartphones available in the market right now with probably the best smartphone display and the second-best smartphone camera.

OnePlus 7 Pro runs on Snapdragon 855 featuring a rear triple camera set-up, notch-less display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, pop-up selfie camera and a 4,000mAh battery supporting 30W Warp fast charging.
