Oppo sub-brand Realme seems to be aggressively climbing up the ladder with its set of competitive smartphones. Aimed at beating Xiaomi, Realme smartphones are doing quite well in the Indian market.
After Realme 1 and Realme 2, the company is now gearing up for its next mid-range flagship killer, Realme 2 Pro.
Realme first teased Realme 2 Pro at the Realme 2 launch, and it is now been confirmed now that the smartphone will be launched on September 27. Most surprisingly, Realme has put out a new teaser video of its upcoming smartphone giving away key details.
Realme 2 Pro: First Look & Design
Realme 2 disappointed many fans due to its downgraded features from Realme 1. Well to make that up, the company is now launching the actual Realme 1 successor. Realme 2 is a lighter version of the second-generation Realme series, where the Realme 2 Pro is going to be the actual successor with a set of upgraded features.
The teaser video has revealed some key details of the upcoming smartphone. The major upgrade is going to be the water-drop notch on Realme 2 Pro.
It’s going to be the first smartphone to offer a water-drop notch at this price. The earlier Realme 2 came with a standard notch and thin bezels. For Realme 2 Pro is going to be a more-small teardrop notch on the top of the display.
Also, the smartphone will see a new polycarbonate metal-like built on the out replacing the diamond cut design.
Realme 2 Pro Display & Specs
Being manufactured under Oppo, the upcoming Realme model will see a lot in common from Oppo’s existing smartphones like Oppo F9 Pro or Oppo R17 Pro. The Realme 2 Pro is expected to come with a 6.4-inch display with a tear-drop notch on top compared to the 6.2-inch notched display on the Realme 2.
The display on the Pro model has thinner bezels with a little chin below. The fingerprint scanner remains at the back with a more circular shape compared to Realme 2.
The smartphone will probably come with a similar rear camera configuration as we saw on the Realme 2. Though, the front camera may see an upgrade with some slight updates in features.
The smartphone may come with the same Helio P60 chipset from Realme 1 or the company could go with a new Snapdragon 600 series chipset: Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660.
The Pro model has retained the 3.5mm headphone jack with a MicroUSB port at the bottom. It is expected to come with the same battery and no fast-charging support.
Realme 2 Pro Price & Color Variants
Aimed at the youth, the upcoming Realme 2 Pro will come with some exciting color combinations. Chrome and Silver color variants have already been spotted on the teaser video. The colors will come to a glossy finish and polycarbonate built. The smartphone will probably be available exclusively via Amazon India.
Coming to the Realme 2 Pro price, it is expected to come at a starting price of around Rs 12,000. The device will have three storage variants as Realme 1, where the top variant may cost somewhere around Rs 17,000.
Realme has sent out media invites for a two-day launch event on September 26 and 27 respectively.
