Hyundai Will Stop Making Creta, Venue’s Selected Variants: Check Full List

A leaked document suggests that Hyundai dealerships have been asked to halt bookings of selected variants of the Creta and Venue.

It seems that the bookings for the Creta Diesel SX AT have been suspended.

At the same time, sales of the Venue Petrol S(O) IMT, SX(O) IMT, SX(O) IMT Dual Tone as well as Venue Diesel SX(O) and SX(O) Dual Tone have also been stopped.

Why Would This Happen?

Hyundai India is one of the leading SUV brands in the country.

When it comes to Creta and Venue, they are the best sellers.

The carmaker together manages about 20k units a month on average.

While the demand is such that there is a waiting period of up to 6 months, depending on the variant.

Since the carmaker is not able to deliver these variants, so the company has advised dealers to suggest alternate variants to customers as per the available stocks / allocations.

Due to global parts / chips shortage, almost every car manufacturer has to make adjustments to their variant line-up.

So that they can reduce the wait period.

Discontinued Venue And Creta Variants

Presently, Hyundai has discontinued 7 variants of Venue and 2 variants of Creta, as per the notification sent to dealers.

Out of these 7 Venue variants, 5 belong to 1.0 turbo petrol and 2 are of 1.5 liter diesel.

The discontinued Venue petrol 1.0 L variants are S(O) DCT, SX+ DCT Dual Tone, S(O) IMT, SX(O) IMT, and SX(O) Dual Tone IMT.

Similarly, the discontinued Venue diesel variants are S(O) and SX(O) Dual Tone.

In case of Creta discontinued variants, one is powered by petrol 1.4 liter turbo and the other is powered by diesel 1.5 liter.

Where, the former is Creta SX DCT and latter is Creta SX AT.

So far, it is not clear as to why this decision has been made.

Most probably,  the carmaker is preparing to adjust production lines for new variants of facelifted Creta and Venue – both of which are planned for later this year.
