Google has now announced that employees should restart working from their workplaces for three days a week from April 4. 

This will mark one of the first steps by the company to reverse its policies that permitted employees to work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Google Notifies Employees To Return To Their Workplaces

Google has sent an internal email to to the employees, notifying them the same.

The mail states, “advances in prevention and treatment, the steady decline in cases we continue to see and the improved safety measures we have implemented … now mean we can officially begin the transition to the hybrid work week.”

As per reports, Google has asked employees to start working from their workplaces three days a week in some of its U.S., U.K. and Asia Pacific offices. 

The email has been sent by John Casey, Google’s vice president of global benefits, which states that everyone coming to the office must be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus or they should have an approved exemption. 

Unvaccinated Employees To Get Permanent Work From Home

Employees that are unvaccinated and dont have an exemption will have an option to get one or apply for permanent remote work. Additionally, employees that are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear masks in Bay Area offices.

The company stated that employees who are not ready to return on April 4 will be able to get a remote-work extension. 

Google has also offered its employees some attractive perks, like  free meals, massages and transit. 

In December, we reported to you that Google has suddenly declared work from home for all 1.5 lakh employees, for an indefinite period. Earlier, Google had asked all their employees to come back to the office by January 10th

This move has been suddenly cancelled, as Google has now announced that there will be indefinite work from home for all 1.5 lakh employees.

Alphabet, the parent company of Google, informed this new development to all employees, which was first reported by Insider.
