Customers of JioMart can now place their orders on WhatsApp, now that both companies have tied up to provide features focused on customer convenience.

The collaboration between Jio and Meta (which owns WhatsApp) has led to integration between the two which delivers convenience to customers.

How It Works

One such measure is the new ‘Tap and Chat’ option through which users can order groceries via WhatsApp.

With this, shoppers can start a chat with a JioMart business account over WhatsApp.

They will then receive a “Start Shopping” prompt along with a catalogue of groceries and other items of daily use.

Orders will be offloaded to the nearest store or fulfilled from a network of Reliance Retail’s stores.

Delivery is still free and there is no minimum order value.

App Features

Customers can fill their shopping carts within the app and pay either via JioMart or in cash on delivery.

Features offered by JioMart include opting for a subscription plan which would deliver a particular item every month, such as diapers.

It also offers personalized recommendations based on order history.

Use WhatsApp For Prepaid Recharge

WhatsApp can also be used for mobile recharge for Jio prepaid customers.

The elderly also can enjoy the benefit since they can now easily recharge their phones through WhatsApp without the need for a different app.

The third point of the triangle after Jio and WhatsApp is Jio’s low-priced smartphone, the JioPhone Next.

Built along with Google, each phone comes preloaded with the JioMart app and WhatsApp.

Focus On Small Businesses

Jio intends to build very specific digital-commerce solutions for small businesses, especially those affected by the pandemic.

It has already gained more than one-fourth share of distribution for retailers within six months of partnership with them.

Some of the native features it aims to build include helping retailers increase stock assortments, improve margins and help them reach out to a larger base of customers.
