SUVs and especially compact SUVs are new found love of Indians. They are incessantly craving for it. And automakers are trying hard to quench their thrust. They have been constantly trying to innovate and give customers a variety of products. With the same effort, the car manufacturers will be launching various SUVs in the upcoming months. 1. Mahindra XUV700

With testing fabulous success with XUV500 and XUV300, Mahindra is gearing up to launch the next generation of XUV. XUV700 it is. The upcoming XUV will be a more premium version of XUV 500. The company has teased us with a host of new features, like auto-booster headlamps, largest-in-segment panoramic sunroof, smart door handles, personalized safety alerts, and driver drowsiness detection.

The vehicle will be available with two engine options after launch – a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol (200 PS) and a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel (185 PS). It will also come with two options in transmission 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. We expect All Wheel Drive to be made available to top variants as well.

2. Volkswagen Taigun

Taigun is also expected to hit Indian markets soon. VW Taigun will be based on the same ‘MQB A0 IN’ platform and will be available with the same engine options as well – a 1.0-liter TSI petrol (115 PS/178 Nm) and a 1.5-liter TSI petrol (150 PS/250 Nm). A 6-speed MT will be offered as standard on both variants.

Even though the vehicle is based on the same platform as Skoda Kushaq, it will have significant differences as well. The vehicle is also expected to come with features such as a 10-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, electric sunroof, keyless entry and go, connected car tech, etc.

3. MG Astor

MG Motors India is also planning to a new midsize SUV in India. MG Astor will be a petrol-powered version of the MG ZS EV, but with a few visual updates

Even though the technical specs of the vehicle are still under wraps at the moment it may have a resemblance with its variant available in International Market.

It is expected to come up with features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, capacitive HVAC controls, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and even ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

 4. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Bolero is a legacy brand in India. It has reached the corners of the country. And Mahindra is looking forward to building on it. This upcoming 9-seater SUV will feature the same exterior design as the Bolero Neo, including the wide front grille with chrome slats and sleeker headlamps than before.

Most probably it will come up with a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine. This motor was rated at 120 PS and 280 Nm back in the day, and it came mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

5. Tata HBX

The mini SUV is expected to be launched in India soon. The vehicle will be based on the brand’s ALFA platform, on which Altroz is also based. Tata HBX will probably come up with a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine, rated at 86 PS and 113 Nm. It is also likely to come up with two variants in transmission i.e. manual and AMC. An optional variant of a 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine might also be available to customers.
