Starlink And Google Partnership

As part of a new partnership between the two, SpaceX will now be locating Starlink ground stations right within Google’s existing data centers.

This will further provide the Starlink network with direct access to ground-based network infrastructure to help facilitate network connections for customers.

Who are on the edges of the footprint of existing network access.

Aims To Provide Reliable, Broadband-Quality

Here, Starlink’s main aim is to come up with reliable, broadband-quality connections.

This will be provided to the areas which are hard or impossible to reach with legacy ground-based network infrastructure, including cellular networks.

How Does This Help?

The latest move from Google will not only help business and public sector customers in taking advantage of that new network reach have access to internet connections.

But this will also provide cloud-based infrastructure and applications, including AI and machine learning capabilities, analytics and more.

This development will not only bolster Starlink’s reliability in terms of its consumer clients.

But it will also provide key capabilities in providing services to the enterprise customers.

Thus it has become another key target demographic for the growing Starlink business.

Although, most of the public focus for Starlink’s roll-out has been on residential access across its expanding beta.

As part of the next step, very soon, Google and Starlink are expected to become available to enterprise customers.

Expected Launch Date

The  press release issued by the companies suggests that the roll out can be expected sometime in the “second half of 2021.

In the past few months, SpaceX has been very aggressive in building out the Starlink network, launching 480 in just around three months.

It seems that all that in-space infrastructure build out could well have been preamble to this collaboration and enterprise-focused service launch.

In addition to that this will also help SpaceX in expanding Starlink consumer service quality and availability.
