Your Whatsapp Messages Will Disappear Automatically: How Will This Work & Why?

Whatsapp is all set to roll out its disappearing messages feature, as revealed by WABetaInfo. It has almost been a year since the feature was first announced.

How does the disappearing messages feature work? When will it be available to us? Read on to find out all the details!

WABetaInfo Reveals Disappearing Messages FeatureTo Come Soon To Whatsapp

WABetaInfo, the account that informs us about all the new and upcoming features in Whatsapp, has said that Whatsapp will be releasing this feature with one of the upcoming updates. The new feature will be called “Disappearing Messages.”

This feature will enable you to delete your messages without leaving a trail. Currently, if you delete a message, it still shows the text “This message has been deleted”. However, with these disappearing messages, you will now be able to delete the messages and no such text will appear either.

The Facebook-owned popular social networking app will allow Whatsapp users to enable the feature any time they want. However, the option to customize the time will not be available.

Once the Disappearing Messages feature has been enabled, all the messages will expire after seven days itself. Also, if the chat isn’t opened for 7 days, then the messages will disappear. The only way to read the messages is if you haven’t cleared the notification panel.

WABetaInfo said, “When you reply to a message, the initial message is quoted. If you reply to a disappearing message, the quoted text might remain in the chat after seven days. If a disappearing message is forwarded to a chat with disappearing messages off, the message won’t disappear in the forwarded chat.”

How To Find Disappearing Messages?

As per reports, if your Whatsapp chats have been backed up before they expire, you can find the disappeared messages on the Google Drive. Also, if you try to restore your messages through Google Drive, the disappearing messages will not be restored as they will be deleted already.

Also, WhatsApp does allow you to take screenshots of the disappearing messages, which makes the whole feature quite pointless. The disappearing images and videos can also be saved to your camera roll. The Save to Camera Roll option will be available for this, which can be manually enabled
