Google announced four major products: Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, new Chromecast stick and Google Nest Audio Speaker.

Google has already announced the Pixel 4a, and the Pixel 4a India sale date is yet to be confirmed. The 4G variant of the Pixel 4a was launched last month, and the Pixel 4a India availability is expected to be announced shortly. Pixel 4a price in India may start at around Rs 29,999, in the sub-30,000 category.

Pixel 5

This year Pixel 5 has been announced for $699 (around Rs 51,400) without focus on some future technology. The company introduced Soli Radar powered Motion Sense gestures last year. The company this year has focused on simple features as design, camera, display and battery. Pixel 5 is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm 5G chip, Snapdragon 765G.

It has Qualcomm’s X52 model for 5G support and it supporta reverse wireless charging, IPX8 water resistance with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 panel. Pixel 5 does not get a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the Pixel 5 display, it gets a 6-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a punch-hole camera with a full edge-to-edge display. Pixel 5 has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It houses a 4,080mAh battery, IP68 waterproofing and is backed by 18W USB-C fast charging.

Pixel 4a 5G

The upgraded Pixel 4a 5G is a budget variant of the Pixel 4, successor to the flagship launched last year. The budget 5G smartphone has been priced at $499 (around Rs 36,700). The 5G Pixel 4a variant comes with a number of hardware upgrades including the latest cellular connectivity.

Pixel 4a 5G features a bigger 6.2-inch OLED display offering a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Pixel 4a 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 765G and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pixel 4a 5G packs in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The battery is slightly bigger on Pixel 4a compared to the standard Pixel 4a featuring a at 3,885mAh unit with a 16-megapixel ultrawide rear camera sensor. The device supports 18W USB-C fast charging.

Google TV and Chromecast

Google unveiled the latest Chromecast streaming device with some major changes. The new Chromecast is priced at $49.99 (Rs 3,700). The search engine giant added Google TV to the latest Chromecast to offer a TV-like interface.

The new Chromecast is much like the Chromecast Ultra. The streaming stick will support 4K resolution and Dolby Vision HDR. It has a new remote with its own on-screen interface for navigation.

Google Nest Audio Speaker

The final product launch at the hardware event was Google Nest Audio Speaker. The new Google audio device is a successor to the Google Home Speaker, launched back in 2016. The latest Nest Audio Speaker by Google has been launched at $99 (around Rs 7,280) and comes in five colours – Chalk, Charcoal, Sand, Sky and Sage.

The Google Nest Audio is covered with fabric and the small parts, of which 70 per cent has been claimed to be recycled materials.

Google Nest Audio is said to be 75 per cent louder and gets 50 per cent stronger bass than the original old Google Home. It packs in a 19mm tweeter for high-frequency coverage.

The Google Nest Audio will get latest Google updates like real-time, multiroom audio, voice calling with Google Duo and a stream transfer from moving sound from speaker to speaker via voice commands. Google Nest Audio uses Ambient IQ to adjust the volume for background noise and Media EQ to tune the audio base.
