Kia Motors has announced that they will be launching the Kia Sonet on August 7, and this launch will be a global one.

The South Korean car manufacturer has risen to popularity, especially when the company launched Kia Seltos, Kia Motors sold 7114 units of Kia Seltos in a small amount of time.

Kia Motors To Launch Kia Sonet On August 7 Globally Through A Digital Event

Kia Motors will be launching the sub four meter Kia Sonet globally on August 7 through a digital event. The car will be sold in several developed countries. Similar to the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta, the car will reportedly sport several features that will mirror those of the Hyundai’s Venue.

Kia Sonet was first introduced at the Auto Expo in February 2020, and the production version will be sporting most of the features that were displayed in the showcased version. The car was initially to be launched in May, but this plan was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak and the lockdown imposed therefore. 

This car will be beneath the Kia Seltos on the ladder and will be pitted against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.

The popularity of the car and the manufacturer depends wholly on the pricing of the car. 

Kia Sonet: Specifications And Features

The Kia Sonet will be a  five seater car and will come in three variants of engines: a petrol engine with a capacity of 1.2 liters, a three-pot turbo petrol engine of 1.0 liters capacity, and a diesel engines with 1.5 liters capacity. 

The car will have a 10.25 inch horizontally oriented touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, which is the largest any car offers in the segment. 

Other features on the car will include flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls, wireless charging facility, sunroof, ambient lighting, automatic climate control system, ventilated front seats, keyless entry, start/stop button, and more.

There will also be a sharp Tiger Nose front grille flanked by sleek headlamps and integrated LED DRLs, sporty bumper section, faux skid plates, side cladding, possible full-width LED tail lamps

The car will have an intelligent manual transmission alongside seven-speed DCT on the Kia Sonet.

The reservations for the five-seater are expected to commence ahead of the world premiere and the official market launch could happen around September, as festive season generally sees positive buying sentiments from customers. The Sonet could be loaded to the gills upon arrival just as the Hyundai Venue and it will feature Kia’s UVO Connect based features to have an upper hand over most of its rivals. Despite sharing the same architecture as the Venue, the Sonet follows Kia’s latest design philosophy followed globally with the presence of , etc.
