Tata Will Launch A Mysterious New Electric Car On April 29: Is It 400Km Range Nexon SUV or New Altroz?

Tata Motors is all set to unveil a new car on April 29, 2022, and this new model will be completely electric. 

Recently, the carmaker launched the Curvv electric SUV concept, and the company aims to launch the car in the next 2 years.  

Tata To Launch New Car on 29 April; Is This Tata Sliq?

There have been reports that Tata Motors has trademarked the name “Sliq” so there is the possibility that the soon to be launched car will be this one. 

However, there are no details about this Tata Sliq. 

The production version of the electric Altroz might also be launched on April 29, which uses the same Ziptron powertrain as the Nexon EV and Tigor EV. The car offers a range of 300 km on a single charge. 

The Nexon EV is also under the works by Tata Motors, and this is a long range version of the car. The electric SUV will probably come with a 40 kWh battery pack offering more than 400 km of range. The car will probably get a more powerful 6.6 kW AC charger.

Recently, Tata Motors launched the new Tata Nexon on 6th April, 2022. Additionally, we shared that Tata is reportedly planning to transform the Ford’s facility in Sanand Gujarat into a production hub for electric vehicle models. The company plans to produce two lakh electronic vehicles every year at the plant by the year 2026. 

Tata Motors Plans To Produce 50,000 EVs by 2023?

Seeking concessions in the land transfer, Tata Motors has proposed to pay 20% of jantri rate of the land which translates to Rs 66 crores. It has also asked for balance eligible incentives which were promised to Ford till 2030. The concessions sought by Tata Motors have received a nod from the government. 

Earlier this year, a consent proposal for the transfer of ownership of Ford’s manufacturing plant was submitted by Tata & Ford. The high-powered committee met recently and gave a nod to this proposal including concessions sought by Tata Motors as part of this deal. This proposed takeover is expected to become a major landmark in EV production in the country.
