OnePlus is all set to unveil its much-awaited series today in India and worldwide, the OnePlus 7 series. The upcoming series will comprise of two handsets, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

While almost everything is out in the air, let’s take a quick look at what we already know. OnePlus will be launching a Pro handset for the first time ever to challenge the likes of premium flagships.

OnePlus 7 Series Rumour Roundup: What We Know So Far

Both OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro had their own share of leaks. We have a pretty good idea how both the devices will look.

Design

OnePlus 7 will come with same design as OnePlus 6T with a few minor changes. The same in-display fingerprint sensor will also be making its way to the new OnePlus 7. Unlike the regular variant, the Pro model is getting a huge upgrade.

OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a new design with curved display edges and no notch. It will be using a pop-up sensor to put in the front camera.

Display

Again, nothing changes much for the regular OnePlus 7. But OnePlus 7 Pro is is expected to break a few barriers this time in terms of viewing experience. The smartphone will come with a 90Hz Quad HD+ display with HDR10+ support.

The company has already claimed that it’s going to be one of the smoothest and best panels available on a smartphone.

The Pro model will be using a pop-up mechanism while the regular OnePlus 7 will retain the notch.

Hardware

Just like every year, the OnePlus 7 series will be getting the current best Qualcomm flagship chipset. The OnePlus 7 smartphones will come the new 7nm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with a special variant supporting 5G capabilities.

Also, for the first time, a OnePlus smartphone will come with 12GB of RAM, the current highest for a smartphone.

Storage

Both the smartphones will be available in three storage combinations, with the latter one with higher RAM capacity. The regular OnePlus 7 will be available in similar storage configurations as OnePlus 6T, but OnePlus 7 Pro will come with higher RAM.

As an upgrade, both the OnePlus 7 devices will feature UFS 3.0 storage to deliver more than double the bandwidth of the current UFS 2.1 standard.

Software

The OnePlus 7 smartphones will run on the latest version of OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie. The company is yet to confirm whether the devices will get Android Q beta program priority support or not.

Even if not the beta, the new OnePlus 7 devices are going to the first to receive the upgrade once the full version is out.

Cameras

OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a three camera combination, while the regular OnePlus 7 will continue with the two camera module. On OnePlus 7 Pro, the triple rear camera setup will come with a 48MP main sensor with OIS, 8MP 3X zoom lens and 16MP wide angle sensor.

On OnePlus 7, the smartphone will come with the same 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor clubbed with a 5MP depth sensor.

Up front, the regular OnePlus is said to feature the same 16MP sensor, while the Pro variant may come with higher end imaging sensor.

Battery

Both the smartphones will support 30W Warp fast charging technology. OnePlus 7 may come with the same 3,700mAh battery and the Pro model will come with a larger 4,000mAh battery.

Pricing & Availability

The regular OnePlus 7 should be available at the similar pricing as OnePlus 6T. The base model should start at Rs 37,999 in India. Even if there’s a price hike, OnePlus 7 shouldn’t start at more than 40,000 rupees in India.

The leaked OnePlus 7 Pro India price starts at Rs 49,999 for the base model.

Rs 49,999 for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Rs 52,999 for 8GB RAM with 256GB mid-end variant.

And finally, Rs 57,999 for the top-end variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Both the devices will be available exclusively via Amazon India.

OnePlus 7 India Launch: Livestream Starts At 8:30PM IST

The OnePlus 7 live event can be live streamed via official YouTube account from 8:30 PM IST. The company is holding special pop-up event in India at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.

The company will hold the OnePlus 7 series launch event at three different places at the same time: Bengaluru, New York and London.

Reliance Jio has teamed up with OnePlus to offer an instant cashback of Rs 5,400 on the first prepaid recharge of Rs 299 buying a new OnePlus 7 device.

A total of 36 vouchers worth Rs 150 will be credited to the official MyJio app.

The Jio Beyond Speed Offer will be available for both existing and new Jio subscribers on both OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro starting from May 19.
