Poco F2 Listed? Two New Redmi Flagships Leaked With Snapdragon 855

While Redmi is gearing up to launch its very-first flagship later this week, a new leak is out confirming two new flagships running on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip. Interestingly one of the handsets has a similar model as the first generation Poco F1.

Xiaomi will unveil the first Redmi flagship on May 13 in China.

The recently separated independent sub-brand is now said to be working on two new flagships, one suggested to be the next Poco F2.

We still need to confirm whether it’s two more flagships, or just another one including Redmi X (aka Redmi K20 Pro). It could also just be the Redmi X and Poco F2 for India. Well, according to the leak, Redmi will be launching two flagship phones in this month.

Let’s jump into the details.

Redmi Will Launch Two Flagship Smartphones In May

The Xiaomi company is said to be working on two flagship smartphones at a time, and both the handsets will launch in May. While Redmi X has already been confirmed, also known as Redmi K20 Pro, the other one hasn’t yet been confirmed.

The leak doesn’t clear it out whether it’s two more flagships from Redmi, or just another one including Redmi X.

It could also just be the Redmi X and the other one for India and global markets i.e Poco F2.

Not only the model numbers, the leak also revealed some key details about the upcoming flagships including the storage, RAM and color variants of both devices.

Leaked Redmi Flagships: Storage Details & Variants

The upcoming Redmi flagship smartphones will arrive in four storage variants. The base model will run on 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and the mid-end model on 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. The top two models will come with 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage respectively.

The leaked Redmi flagships will come in three color option: Carbon Fiber, Blue and Red.

Do note, the leaked details are common for both the upcoming Redmi smartphones. The previous leaks of Redmi X hint at only three models, so this couldn’t be it and Poco F1 also came in three storage versions, so we don’t know whether Poco F2 will have four options to choose from or not.

The leak doesn’t reveal any further information other than the hardware and storage details. The pricing of these variants weren’t sheared as well.

Poco F2 Listed? Same Model Number Spotted

Only the model numbers have been leaked and the names are not known yet. While the interesting part was the strange similarity of the model number of the upcoming Redmi flagship and the last Poco F1. The Singapore’s IMDA authority listed two Redmi smartphones with the model number M1903F10 and M1903F11.

If you remember, the Poco F1 had “E10” in its model number.

So, the repetition of the E10 suggests that M1903F10 Redmi flagship could be the Poco F2 outside of China i.e India and other global markets.

The M1903F10 Redmi model will be powered by the current best Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC with upto 8GB or 10GB of RAM.

The leak doesn’t confirm any Poco F2 or any sort of naming. It could be a mere coincidence or just a prior registration for the future launch of Poco F2. Previously the Redmi X has been suggested that it will be remodelled for India as Poco F2.

Flagship Saga: Will Redmi Launch Two Flagships In May?

It’s highly unlikely that Redmi will launch two flagship smartphones at a time. And again, both to be powered by the same flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC seems a far bit. The leak could be rather like two variants of the same Redmi X, or another smartphone that will be launched for other markets Xiaomi operates in outside China.

Or else, the second model could also be a toned-down Redmi X running on the newly announced Snapdragon 730 SoC.

The company will soon be unveiling Mi A3 in India running on the same chip backed by a triple rear camera setup and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Coming back to what has been already confirmed, the upcoming Redmi X flagship will go official on May 13 running on Snapdragon 855, all set to arrive with a notch-less 6.39-inch AMOLED display, a pop-up selfie sensor, three camera setup at the back and an in-screen fingerprint reader.

The triple camera setup will feature the 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 sensor, a super wide lens and a telephoto sensor. It will include a 4,000mAh battery with support for 27W rapid charging. Redmi later confirmed NFC and the much-loved 3.5mm audio jack for Redmi X as well.

While the India launch is still yet to be confirmed, the device will start at around 30,000 bucks for the base variant if converted to INR.
