Vivo unveiled it’s much-hyped Vivo V15 Pro yesterday, a follow-up to the V11 Pro, which launched in September last year. The new Vivo V15 Pro does pack in some solid features including a pop-up camera, full-screen design language from Vivo NEX line.

Vivo V15 Pro is not a mid-range device. The good features do push in into the entry premium bracket.

Design & Build

OnePlus 6T and Vivo V15 Pro both features a front and back glass sandwich design language. Very similar to OnePlus 6T, the Vivo V15 Pro comes with a metal railing in the middle with dual tone gradient finishes.

Both the smartphones are almost same in terms of build quality. Without the notch, the Vivo V15 Pro has an added advantage in terms of user experience.

Display

OnePlus 6T features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display in an 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a water drop styled notch on top. In comparison, Vivo V15 Pro comes with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ Ultra Full View AMOLED display without any notch.

The Nex approach has helped Vivo offer a better display and higher screen to body ratio. Though, both the smartphones have a little chin down under with slim bezels on sides.

Both the smartphones are quite vibrant, but the AMOLED and notch-less display on Vivo V15 Pro will get a thumbs up. The earpiece on smartphone has been slimmed down and neatly tucked it inside the top bezel.

OnePlus 6T runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with upto 10GB of RAM. Currently among the fastest Android smartphones in the world, Vivo V15 Pro can’t match upto the level of performance with OnePlus.

In terms of standard day to day tasks and daily usage, both the smartphones will perform well. If you are someone whose main concerns are heavy applications and high-end games, you should go with OnePlus 6T.

Software

The Vivo V15 Pro comes with FunTouch UI while OnePlus 6T has Oxygen OS taking up the job. Both the customised OS platforms come with their own bloatware and distinctions. OnePlus has lesser unnecessary layers.

Both the smartphone run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

Storage

OnePlus 6T has four storage variants available in the country: 128GB/6GB, 128GB/8GB, 256GB/8GB and the special McLaren Edition with 10GB RAM and 256GB storage. On the other hand, Vivo V15 Pro is only available in a single version with 128GB and 6GB RAM.

OnePlus 6T doesn’t support additional storage, but Vivo V15 Pro supports expandable storage of up 256GB.

Rear Camera

Vivo V15 Pro dons a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 48-megapixel primary Samsung GM1 sensor, which enables the 12-megapixel effective pixels with an f/1.8 lens. There’s an 8-megapixel AI Super Wide-Angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a third 5-megapixel tertiary depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

In comparison, OnePlus 6T offers a rear dual camera setup comprising of a 16 megapixel f/1.7 sensor backed by OIS coupled with a 20 megapixel f/1.7 secondary sensor.

Vivo V15 Pro with the triple rear camera setup with the 48MP sensor has an edge over the OnePlus 6T. Both the smartphones do capture great shots in good lighting, but the added AI Body Shaping and AI Portrait Lighting on V15 Pro makes it a better one.
