Jio’s Ultra-Broadband aiming for the business sector

Jio’s plan of introducing fast speed ultra-broadband has been the talk of the town for more than a year. The latest update on this news is that Jio is looking to introduce ultra-broadband to the business and enterprise sector.

Jio President, Mathew Oommen said, “The next big transformation for businesses will be access to affordable ultra-broadband. Businesses have been deprived of telecom connectivity. Clearly, broadband has an important role to play here too.”

He went on to specify that out of a total of 5,000 large enterprises and 1.4 million small and medium businesses, in addition to 51 million registered micro, small and medium enterprises in India, only 1 million have wireline connectivity. According to him, Airtel has a reach over more than 1.7 million enterprise customers that contribute 22% of its revenue.

Jio’s broadband will be available at extremely affordable rates and will now clearly be the hot favorite.
