FIFA 2018 Will Stream Free On JioTV

Jio has just made millions of Indian football fans very happy. Hot on the heels of Jio Double Dhamaka offer, Jio has now announced that they will live stream all the matches from the Football World Cup, FIFA 2018, which is starting from June 14 in Russia.

Jio subscribers will be able to watch the month-long event live on their mobile devices for free!

Can JioTV change the dynamics of sports telecast in India?

FIFA 2018 On JioTV

It seems Jio has realized the potential of online sports telecast and is jumping right in the middle of the action. During this past IPL season, Jio had tied up with Hotstar to live stream IPL matches free for Jio’s subscribers. Where Hotstar was charging others to watch matches on their platform, Jio and Airtel subscribers had free unlimited access to the sporting extravaganza.

Now that the football fever is on, with the football world cup only a day away, Jio’s announcement is sure to have diehard football fans excited. FIFA 2018 is going to be football’s biggest sporting event this year.

Online live streaming of sports is slowly but surely catching on in India. In a cricket-crazy nation like India, one CSK Vs KKR match in IPL 2018 had 55 million people watching it live online! It created a new online viewership record. Jio is smartly adding to its content portfolio with such partnerships.

Those new Double Dhamaka plans for Jio will definitely come in handy with all the additional data at lowered prices.

Afghanistan’s First Test Match Live On JioTV

Jio also has some good news for cricket fans. Afghanistan, the newbies of world cricket, will be playing their first test match ever against India. The 5-day cricket match is scheduled to take place between June 14 and June 18.

JioTV will also live stream this match for their subscribers.

So again it is going to be a double punch from Jio, exclusively for their subscribers.

Online sports broadcasting is slowly gaining steam and with an increasing acceptance, it looks to be blooming in the country. Hotstar has acquired exclusive rights to live-stream the IPl 2018 matches for which they had introduced a special All Sports Pack which allowed their subscribers access to not only IPL matches, but to any sports content they broadcast.

With Jio showing interest in this segment, we can expect some fireworks soon enough.
