LinkedIn comes out with a list of companies that are most sought after across the globe. From Alphabet to Adobe and Ola to OYO Rooms, this year’s LinkedIn Top Companies span 10 industries.

The Top Companies list is based on the billions of actions taken by LinkedIn’s 500+ million members. Their data team, working with their global editorial team, analysed those actions to come up with a blended score ranking the winners in each country.

The methodology takes into consideration three main pillars to uncover the companies. LinkedIn members are most interested in now: job applications, both views and applies on postings; engagement, with employees as well as with the company directly; and retention, how many employees are sticking around for a year or longer.

Based on the blended scores above, LinkedIn has ranked the following companies as the most sought after –

  1. Flipkart
  2. Amazon India
  3. KPMG India
  4. One97 Communications
  5. Ola
  6. HCL Technologies
  7. Adobe
  8. Alphabet
  9. Oyo Rooms
  10. Reliance Industries
  11. Capgemini
  12. Accenture
  13. Deloitte India
  14. Tech Mahindra
  15. Swiggy
  16. Cisco
  17. IDFC Bank

  23. MakeMyTrip.com

This list includes everything from the LinkedIn database, so it might be biased to a few companies, but none of these firm names come as a shocker. It was pretty much expected to have higher internet-related companies on the list, purely because of the work environment and respect are given to the employees.

It is interesting to see Flipkart at the top spot, with over 30,000 employees in India(including contractors). Flipkart also has very employee friendly policies wherein it allows them to take a long leave after two years for higher education etc. Amazon India is at no. 2 with rapid expansion in India.

Management Consulting firm KPMG made it to top 3, which has been primarily because of a nice work culture, along with interesting problems to solve at work. Google, or Alphabet, at no. 8 is slightly surprising considering the facilities and lavishness at Google offices.

Globally, Alphabet has been ranked as the most sought after company by job seekers. Amazon, Facebook, Salesforce and Uber are ranked next and it is interesting to note that all of these are West Coast companies.
