On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Google India has now announced the launch of its Google India Girl Hackathon 2022. The search engine giant has invited all women coders to participate in this Hackathon event.

Google India Launches Girl Hackathon 2022 Event

The Google India Girl Hackathon 2022 event will be conducted between March 19 and April 30,  and winners of the event will be rewarded with cash prizes, an interview with Google, and some cool merchandise. 

Google India has tweeted, “Calling women coders of tomorrow ?????????#CrackTheCode and participate in our Girl Hackathon to win cash prizes, an interview with Google and cool merch. Women students of computer science and allied courses can register in teams of 3 at: https://goo.gle/GirlHackathon

The registration for the event will close on March 9, and it is open for all women students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in computer science and/or related circuit branches. 

This is a team-based event and a group of three people in each team will be allowed to participate. Also, participants will be allowed to form teams based on the group allocations which will be available in the registration tab. 

How Will This Event Help?

Girl Hackathon is an event specifically designed for female students of computer science and allied courses throughout the country. This will be a platform for women in the engineering field to flaunt their coding skills and also promote solutions for real-time technical problems. 

It will also help push the innovative and problem-solving skills of students and get them to engage with Google on a creative note. 

Participants are expected to be available to work on the challenge with their teams during the six weeks during which the program will be conducted, as and when they progress through eacg stage. 

As per reports, there will be three stages, Google Online Challenge, Design Document Round, and Virtual Hackathon Round. 

The participants will be divided into two groups, based on the year they’re studying in. one group will have graduates of years 2024 and 2025, from bachelors, masters, and integrated dual degrees and related courses. Whereas, the other group will consist of graduates of 2022 and 2023.
