Everyone Included: New Hires Too

The company, British recruitment agency Yolk Recruitment announced that it will take its staff members on a 4-day holiday to Tenerife on company expenses in April.

What’s notable is that the company is taking all its 55 staff members and “not just the top billers”.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the move, it said that the trip will include its 50+ recruiters across 8 of its markets, all of its support teams behind the scenes, new hires in January 2022 and also those it will hire in February.

The official announcement.

Costly Affair

The vacation destination is the popular Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, off the coast of North-West Africa.

The holiday is in celebration of its “historic 2021 results” and will be including everyone in line with its culture of inclusivity where “everyone wins!”.

The trip will cost the company over £100,000 (roughly Rs 1 crore).

The people will be staying at the H10 Costa Adeje Palace hotel near Playa de las Americas.

Rooms here retail at around £140 a night.

Profit Despite Pandemic

Chief Commercial Officer Pavan Arora said that 2020 was a hard year for the whole industry and its staff had made the switch to remote work, hybrid then back to remote.

It was a period when the jobs market was put on hold, and then all of a sudden became the most active it had ever been.

Despite the ups and downs, the firm managed to record its most profitable period last year- definitely a cause for celebration.

In a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for their work for the last 2 years, the company decided on this lavish reward.

Hiring Continues

It is also looking to hire 20+ new people.

It has highlighted two important roles that it is hiring for- Divisional Head (Marketing) and Head of Talent Acquisition.

It will also onboard dozens of trainee consultants along with strategic experienced hires this year.
