Hero Motocorp Will Launch Its 1st Electric Bike In March: Expected Price, USPs & More

The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world Hero MotoCorp reported its highest ever global sales in markets outside India in calendar year 2021, i.e. from Jan-Dec 2021, compared to any other CY.

Besides, the motorcycle and scooter manufacturing company is all set to launch its first electric vehicle in March 2022.

Vehicle Sales of Hero MotoCorp Rises 13% on a MoM Basis 

The automaker reported sales figures for the month of Dec 2021 and for the quarter ending Dec 2021, i.e. Q3 FY22. 

As per data, the company sold a total of 394,773 units of motorcycles and scooters, including in its domestic market and global business, which is 13% higher on a month on month basis, where it sold 349,393 units.

For the quarter ending Dec 2021, the company sold a total of 12,92,136 units. 

Hero MotoCorp’s Global Sales Exceed 70%

The Delhi-headquartered auto maker has sold a total of 2.89 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in its global markets, which spread over Asia, Africa South and Central  America and the Caribbean, for the calendar year 2021.

The reported figures are 71% over the same period last year, when the company made a total sale of 1.69 lakh units in its global markets excluding India.

The company has its presence over 42 countries across three continents. In the Oct-Dec 2021 period, the company accelerated its global expansion plans and launched a new exclusive dealership in Dubai, besides already having a presence (exclusive dealership) in Buenos Aires.

In March this year, the company will launch its first electric vehicle and this will be manufactured in the company’s facility at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

Hero MotoCorp continues to monitor the on-ground situation, although localized restrictions imposed by certain states in the wake of rising Omicron cases will continue to restrict the customer movement, stated a Livemint report.
