Work From Home Permanently Ends In These Big Indian Companies As Work From Office Starts

Pandemic hit and forced us all back in our homes. Thousands of people started working from their homes. After more than one and a half of a year, the people have started to miss their offices and their chit chats over a cup of coffee with their co-workers. Now, for those who have been missing their offices, there is a piece of good news. With vaccination drive on full swing throughout the nation, corporate leaders are mulling the thought of bringing back working from the office.

The majority of the TCS employees will be back in the office soon

Since March 2020, the time when the pandemic started, many organizations were quick to adapt to the Work from Home (WFH) scenario. They have even minted huge money while managing remotely.

But now, looking at larger concerns regarding WFH, the majority of the firms, From IT majors Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to banks like HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, are planning to ask their employees to return back to offices. Whereas Some companies are leaving the choice of returning to offices to employees.

It should be noted that the majority of India Inc firms are being prudent to make sure that the employees have taken both doses of vaccination before pressing ahead with the plans.

TCS, with a workforce of over 500,000 people, has already announced its plans to call around 70-80% of employees to the office by the end of the year or the beginning of 2021.

The return of staff to office desks will depend on how the third wave pans out, TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan had asserted recently.

Other companies are also following the suit

Other IT firms like Wipro and Infosys have also made their intent clear on work from office plans. Earlier, Wipro chairman Rishad Premji tweeted about how the firm is implementing its coronavirus protocols at its offices.

Apart from the IT leaders, financial groups like Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and YES Bank have also indicated their willingness to start the offices with full strength.

All HDFC offices are working at 100% manpower in line with the directives issued by the respective state governments, the company MD had said in a recent interview.

FMCG Company Marico has also announced a hybrid model for its India employees starting October, wherein a majority of the employees will work from the office at a “reduced but defined frequency”.
