Last month, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) released its FY22 Q1 results. Over 43,000 TCS employees resigned in the last year, according to the first-quarter figures.

TCS tried to maintain its speed and agility, and have emerged stronger even during the pandemic. 

As of now, the attrition rate was estimated to be 8.6% and TCS now employs 5.0 lakh people worldwide. TCS continues to have the lowest attrition in the industry when compared to competitor firms.

According to recent quarterly reports, Infosys had a 13.9 per cent attrition rate, Wipro had a 15.5 per cent, HCL Technology had an 11.8 per cent, Accenture had a 17 per cent and Cognizant had a 31 per cent attrition rate.

Hyper-Digital And Largely Contactless Business

TCS’s Chief Operating Officer, N Ganapathy Subramaniam, described Indian brilliance as “phenomenal.” He believes that there is no shortage of talents in India and strictly disagrees with any concern regarding the cost.

According to the data, only 12% of India’s workforce is digitally skilled and he believes that there will be a total of 3.9 billion digital skill training from 2020 to 2025. According to experts, the future of business will be hyper-digital and mostly contactless. 

TCS Vaccination Drive

In less than two months, over half a million associates and family members were vaccinated, and over 70% of the company’s associates were vaccinated, according to Lakkad.

’We are on track to vaccinate all TCSers and families by September,” said Lakkad.

TCS Hiring Process

TCS will be hiring over 40,000 freshers from campuses in India in the fiscal year 2021-22.

Milind Lakkad – EVP and Global Head, Human Resources, TCS had recently said “From the campus in India, we hired 40,000 last year. We will continue to hire and hire 40,000 or more this year in India,”

He added that the coronavirus pandemic-related restrictions do not pose any difficulties in hiring and added that last year, a total of 3.60 lakh freshers had appeared for an entrance test virtually.
