As compared to the total number of active internet users in India (755,820,000), 0.066 per cent of Indian internet users are keen to quit social media each month.

With an average of 1,134,400 online searches per month showing their intention to leave social media permanently, Americans are the most likely to do so.

Reboot Online classified and grouped consistently recurring Google searches by individuals on quitting social media such as ‘how to delete social media?’. Also, searches were like ‘how to delete Facebook?’.

There were searches on ‘how to delete Instagram?’; ‘how to delete Tumblr?’; ‘how to delete TikTok’? and how to delete Twitter and Snapchat?. The online searches thus clearly signify users’ desire to quit social media.

According to Reboot Online, Americans are the most likely to abandon social media, with an average of 1,134,400 online searches each month reflecting their desire to do so permanently. Every day, the equivalent of 36,594 online searches.

As compared to the total number of active internet users in the United States (312,320,000), this equates to 0.363 per cent of internet users in the United States wanting to stop using it.

The United Kingdom is in third place as there is an of average 308,850 online searches every month from Brits demonstrating their desire to exit social media permanently.

Social networking sites began as a simple and efficient way to communicate with friends. We can now communicate with people and develop better relationships with friends we are unable to meet in person, as well as update them on our lives.
