25% Of Entire America Is Now Vaccinated; 5800 Vaccinated People Got Infected With Covid-19

According to the latest data provided by The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States has vaccinated about one-fourth of its entire population against Covid-19.

Until Sunday, CDC’s dashboard displayed a total of 264,499,715 Covid-19 vaccine doses delivered, of which 205,871,913 doses were delivered by Saturday.

US Ranks First in Covid Cases and Deaths

A total number of over 140.4 million Covid positive cases have been reported around the globe, with the death toll crossing the 3 million mark, reports Johns Hopkins University.

As of Monday morning, the University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) has reported a total of 140,433,831 cases.

Of this, the US leads with the world’s highest number of novel coronavirus cases and deaths, recorded at 31,627,701 and 566,893 respectively, followed by India with 14,526,609 infections and 175,649 deaths, as per CSSE.

The pandemic has now claimed the lives of at least 566,893 people in the United States, the highest across the world.

Vaccination Drives in the US

According to the US national public health agency, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a total of 264,499,715 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been delivered in the country, as of Sunday.

This results in a total of one-fourth population of the US being vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country.

According to CDC’s data,

  • About 129,494,179 people have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine.
  • A total of 82,471,151 people have been given both doses of the vaccine.
  • 39% of the US population have been administered with one dose of vaccine, while
  • 24.8% of the US population has been totally vaccinated.

US President Joe Biden, while taking over his office, set a target of administering 200 million doses under his administration by his 100th day in the office. Biden held the office as the 46th POTUS on January 20, 2021.

By Friday, over 202 million doses of the vaccine was already administered in the United States, of which 185 million doses have been administered since Biden took charge of the office.

To reach the set goal, Biden’s administration will have to administer a total of 218 million doses since vaccinations began.

About 5,800 people who have been administered COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S. have still been infected anyway, while 74 people died, reported CDC on Thursday.
