These Best Selling Maruti Cars Conquered Top 5 Sales List For 4th Year, Crushed Competition

Swift, Baleno, WagonR, Alto and Dzire have occupied the positions of top 5 selling cars in India.

Maruti has announced that 5 cars from its stable have dominated the Indian market once again in 2020-21, as per compiled industry sales figures.

For the 4th consecutive year Swift, Baleno, WagonR, Alto and Dzire have occupied the positions of top 5 selling cars in India.

The Top 5

  • Swift- 172,671 units

An updated version was launched earlier this year.

Alto was its sole competitor in the past.

  • Baleno- 163,445 units

Despite emerging competition in recent times, the Nexa brand model has maintained a strong grip in terms of sales and popularity.

  • WagonR- 160,330 units

Despite concerns of datedness, with its sales figures it is clear to see that the public is not ready to let it go yet.

  • Alto- 158,992 units

A car that was once the legendary Maruti 800 that inspired Indians to buy their first car, neither does it need an introduction nor do its sales figures an explanation.

  • Dzire- 128,251 units

Having secured the 5th selling position is no mean feat considering it has not seen any facelift or update in recent years.

Other Maruti Achievements

These 5 continue to prove that despite the SUVs and MPVs currently trending the auto market, small size cars are still the dominant preference of the Indian audience.

Collectively the above 5 have accounted for 30% of all passenger vehicle sales in FY 2020-21.

The Vitara Brezza dominates in the sub-compact SUV segment.

Sports hatchback Swift was the best selling car in the year 2020-21
