Kia’s New 3-Row 7-Seater MPV Can Launch By This Date; Will Compete With Marazzo, Ertiga, Innova

As we all know that Kia Motors India has achieved great success with the strategy of concentrating on compact and midsize SUV segments with the Sonet and Seltos respectively.

Not only that, the car maker is also seeing a decent number for its Carnival premium MPV being offered in three variants.

New MPV In Horizon

With that success, it looks like another MPV can also join the Indian market in near future.

Currently, Kia is working on a new three-row MPV as the information is revealed by a recent report surfaced on the interweb points.

The information is in line with the earlier speculations where the company is evaluating a people mover for the Indian market.

The speculation suggests that the premium MPV could be launched in the early parts of next year.

Further, it will be slotted above the Seltos in the brand’s domestic lineup.

Where Does It Stand?

If that happens then the upcoming MPV could be positioned below the Carnival model.

The new  model is expected to be based on the same architecture that underpins the Seltos and Hyundai Creta as well.

Since, Hyundai opted to debut the Alcazar (seven-seater Creta) soon in India before going on sale by the middle of this year.

So, Kia could also go down the MPV route to attract family-based customers.

Although, the chances of the Kia MPV standing between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta are high.

Key Features And Design

The new model is expected to be sold in three engine choices as in the Kia

Seltos to appeal for a wide band of customers (or at least two as the report suggests).

To be specific, It is most likely to compete with Mahindra Marazzo in the MPV space.

Reports also suggest that the MPV took design inspiration fromCarnival and will be having a spacious interior for seven.

If we talk about features, the MPV will be sporting the signature Tiger Nose front grille, wraparound LED taillights, sleeker headlights.

Along with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, ambient lighting and a lot more.

Along with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, it will come with s 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel could be offered.
