The Additional Chief Secretary of Excise Department Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy states,

As per the new policy, the limit of purchasing, transport, or private possession of only six liters of alcohol per person or in a house is fixed.

For consumption/holding of any more liquor than the prescribed quantity, one will have to acquire a license from the Excise Department.
