Tata Motors Reveals First Look of 2021 Safari SUV Days Ahead Of Launch

Tata Motors conducted a flag off ceremony, wherein the first Safari was introduced out of the line from its plant in Pune. The formal debut of the SafarI SUV is scheduled to take place later this month. Additionally, the bookings for the Safari SUV will also begin soon.

During the first official look of the new Tata Safari, Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors said, “The Safari is our flagship offering to connect the aspirations of the discerning and evolved Indian customer. It had introduced India to the SUV lifestyle and in its new avatar, will carry forward this rich idea to build further its legacy.”

He has also said that the new Tata Safari is ideal for families and groups with a multifaceted lifestyle and who choose to travel together for work or leisure. The car offers a fusion of “exceptionally strong lineage, robust build quality, premium finishes and the 4Ps of Power, Performance, Presence and Prestige to ‘Reclaim Your Life’.”

Tata Safari SUV: Specifications, Features, And Price

The new Tata Safari SUV is designed similarly to the Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language, which highlights the all-purpose nature of the car. This new Safari SUV was previously codenamed Gravitas and showcased at the Auto Expo last year

Some special features of the car have already been revealed by the automobile manufacturer, such as  the imposing new front grille, the iconic stepped roof with chrome garnish on the D pillar, and an imposing tailgate.

Reports are that the wheel arches are also quite imposing, and enhance the ruggedness of the SUV. The car has potential to travel through any terrain, as assured by the car maker.

The Safari will be powered by  2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which delivers 168 bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, the car will come with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The price of the car is estimated to be around Rs. 14 – Rs. 21 Lakh (ex-showroom).
