As the new, deadlier variant of coronavirus is triggering a second and third wave of new infections, Air India has decided to suspend all international flights to these three countries, with immediate effect.

All International Flights Banned For These Three Countries

Air India has announced that all international flights to UK, Saudi Arabai, and Oman have been banned.

While the international flights to UK have been suspended from December 22 to December 31st, the flights to Saudi Arabia and Oman have been suspended from December 22 to December 29th.

UK has been the epicentre of this new variant of coronavirus, called VUI (Variant Under Investigation) 202012/01, or the B.1.1.7 lineage, as new cases have rapidly increased in South and East England.

Health officials in the UK have called this virus unstoppable.

Due to this reason, all incoming and outgoing flights to UK from India has been suspended.

Meanwhile Saudi Arabia and Oman have suspended all international flights, and this is the reason Air India too has canceled all flights to these nations.

Free Rescheduling, No Cancellation Charges

For all Air India flights to UK, Saudi Arabia and Oman between December 22 to December 31, Air India will not charge any amount for canceling the flights, and for rescheduling. 

Air India informed: “In view of GoI directive on suspension of flights to UK, from 22nd-31st Dec’20, Oman & Saudi Arabia both from 22nd-29th Dec ’20, Air India is offering passengers booked to travel during the period one-time free reschedule for travel completed within 31st Dec ’21. All Penalties for one-time rescheduling, cancellation, rerouting will be waived for bookings between 22nd & 31st Dec ’20. For further assistance in this regard please dial our customer care numbers,”
