What is NQT?

TCS’ National Qualifier Test (NQT) is a multi-level PAN India assessment drive, which asses candidates on the basis of their core cognitive abilities required for the entry-level jobs and soft-skills required for the targeted job.

This test is conducted by TCS’ strategic unit, TCS iON.

Since its arrival in 2018, there have been over 3.6 lakh student participations from more than 2600 colleges across the country.

NQT Now Open to Corporates

“NQT will now be a common gateway test for several participating corporates for their fresher recruitment programmes”, says Ramaswamy, the Global Head of TCS iON.

He also added that this will be a standardised test that will provide employment opportunities to millions of young jobseekers.

“A large number of leading corporates including Croma, Titan, Kirloskar and Godrej have shown interest in participating in this hiring process”, stated Ramaswamy.

Who Can Participate in the Test?

“The test acts as a single window for job opportunities across leading organisations in IT, BFSI, manufacturing, pharma, and FMCG sectors, including TCS.”, said Ramaswamy.

The test is open for:

  • Young professionals having an experience of not more than 2 years, looking to switch in a desired company, and/or
  • Students in their pre final/final year of undergraduate or postgraduate programs, from any stream.

Test Syllabus and Last Date of Application

Just like any other general examination, the NQT will consist of these sections,

These will determine a candidate’s cognitive abilities.

The test will be conducted once in every quarter, with the score being valid for a period of 2 years.

The 1st test will be conducted from October 24-26 and will be free of cost.

The last date of registration is Oct 17.

Where will the Exam be Conducted?

The candidates can either give the test from home, or go to the TCS iON centre, for the same.

There are 600 such centres across the country for students, which will follow all the essentials for social distancing and sanitation protocols.
