Amidst the COVID-19 resultant lockdown, the 80s tv show, Ramayana made a comeback in 2020 and took the nation by a storm. 

As per the latest report from Broadcast Audience Research Channel (BARC), its re-run is the most watched show on TV.

However, the most popular TV serial, Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashmah after 12 years running strong lost to a Star Plus TV soap.

The World Television Premiere of ‘Tanhaji: Unsung Warrior’ the Most Viewed on Tv Channels!

As per the viewing pattern of Indian audience between July 25-31 released by BARC, the world television premiere of ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ starring Ajay Devgan, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan has topped the charts in terms of viewership.

Amongst the tv shows, Ramayana is still topping the charts in terms of Television Rating Point (TRP). 

Another tv show of the same channel Dangal named Mahima Shani Devi Ki holds the position below Ramayana.

This is followed by a tv show from Zee Tv, Kundali Bhagya as the third-most watched tv show. This is one the most popular Balaji soaps.

Amongst the top 5 TV shows is DD National’s Shri Krishna. This show too is a comeback and was first broadcasted in the 90s.

A TRP War!

TMKOC has been running strong for 12 years now, and was on the top position last week. 

As per Hindi GEC Urban, Star Plus’ Anupamaa who was second in the list last week is now holding the top position in terms of TRPs. This is followed by Sony SAB’s TMKOC.

On the third position is Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya, followed by Colors’ Choti Sardarni. 

Hence it can be said that TMKOC after years on Indian Television has captured the hearts of many and has managed to remain in the Top 5 television programmes.
